We’ve still got room in this year’s tourney. There’s two more slots in the women’s bracket and two more for the coed one. It’s late, but not too late to get a team in.
We finalized the online player entry form and posted it to the website. Hopefully this will be better than the buggy PDF file.
With the entry deadline looming, we’re fixing the player entry form to make it easier for players to submit. We’ve fielded complaints that the PDF isn’t working properly and that players can’t e-mail it. The form should be up later today.
Just answered an email, and thought it had a lot of useful info:
The deadline to enter is October 8, after that players must pay a $5 late entry fee. This is because we need to have the shirt sizes in and give the printer at least one week to produce the shirts.
No limit on the amount of players on a team. Every player must pay $20 ($25 after October 8). If players are participating in two brackets (i.e. Men + Coed), then they must $10 more.
Teams aren’t required to wear numbered uniforms, but it does look sharp if everyone on the team wore the same colors or followed a theme. This is a fun-raiser!
Team check-in will begin at 8 a.m., and the men’s and women’s draws will run concurrently starting at 9:00 a.m.. This is why they are capped at eight (8) teams each. The coed draw will be in the afternoon, and that bracket is capped at 16 teams.
For the men’s and women’s draws, we will mostly follow the USAV rules since a large majority of the teams entering are club teams. However, please keep in mind that this is a benefit event, and outside of the top and bottom refs, the line officials and scorekeepers will be provided by a junior volleyball club. For the coed draw, RPJ league rules will be used.
